We have had some interest in asset management and property management related issues, so we decided to roll out a Forum specifically on asset management and property management.

I think most people know that the property manager manages the day-to-day operations of investment property.  They lease the property, collect the rents, pay the bills, and remit the net amount to the investor/owner.  The asset manager is responsible for determining the best use of the property, the best time to buy and to sell, to ensure the investor is receiving the best possible return on his/her investment. 

I would also like to welcome our first Moderator that has agreed to Moderate this Forum - Mary Sawyer, president and chief executive officer, Portfolio Properties, Inc., Bakersfield, California.

I would like to welcome our co-Moderator Robert Schlesier, CPM, and president and chief executive officer, Utopia Management, Inc., in San Diego, California.  We look forward to Mary's and Robert's contributions to our Asset Management and Property Management Forum.
